Default MRI on Church's brain and neck comes back...

NEGATIVE.

Good news. But don't know what that means in terms of when he will be able to play.

They were negative after he got the concussion in Atlanta too though.

I am sure the tests were to rule out anything more serious, such as tumors, etc.

Met doctors: "Good news Ryan! Your brain isn't hemmoraging! You're cleared to play."
Church: "But what about the concussion, any indication I'm still feeling the effects?"
Met doctors: "Concussion? Nonsense! We just told you your brain isn't bleeding to death! Run! Play! Crash into stuff!"

What the thread title says reminds me of the old story about Dizzy Dean. He was running between first and second and somehow he got hit in the head by the baseball, was knocked out and taken to the hospital. The next day the headline in the newspaper said "DOCTORS X-RAY DEAN'S HEAD, FIND NOTHING".

Omar needs two more outfielders. Trade Wagner, Schoeneweis and Perez for a new outfield and another reliable reliever.

They couldn't even do an MRI on half the team's brains because they are too small to test.

I have no issue with trading the first two guys you mentioned. Perez well for now I'm back on his bandwagon.

Met Doctors "Why check his brain and neck when he uses his hands and feet to play baseball?"

So are other GMs. That's why the time to trade him is now. He's not coming back here, and he's facing not the Yankees or Phillies for the next few weeks, so he's going to be back to his shrugging, throwing meatballs self.

Doctor: Good news Ryan, your MRI came back negative and we are clearing you to play.
Church: I'll take a Big Mac Supersized with a Coke and a 6 piece of McNuggets please.
Doctors: Excuse me?
Church: The Lambada, I said the Lambada
Doctors: He look sounds good to me, What do you think Omar?
Omar: We need his bat in the line-up, people might realize that I didn't prepare for injuries and I signed like 7 2nd basemen this off season youknowwhatimsayin?
Church: "and She's buying a stairway...to heaven"
Omar: See he can't wait to play
Church: I like pizza Steve.

He's not coming back. He's probably the next best thing to Sabathia when it comes to "available" pitchers.

Cleveland got EXCELLENT return on a simple rental. Since Milwaukee is a small market team with no postseason appearances since 1982, you could venture to guess that a bigger team with more expectations would lay out a similar or potentially superior return.

Would someone like Niese give up that much as a rotation member when you consider that they could get more for Perez NOW than the draft picks from the end of the year?

Additionally - he might favor the Padres, and, as a crappy team, the Mets wouldn't get their first rounder. I'd rather they get 2 C prospects and a B+ NOW than the Padres #2 and a compensatory pick later.

I really don't see this front office trading a starting pitcher at this point in the season. They will say how close they are and they like the team as it is and once they get alou...blah blah blah. The right move would be to go ahead and trade him. Trade him to a contending team.
