That's a shame for Church if he really does have to miss the rest of the season. I hope everything turns out all right and the Mets doctors are just, for once, being cautious.

He's hitting pretty well, maybe they should keep sending him out there.

This team needs to get another outfielder. I cringe at an aguilia, anderson outfield. I absolutely hate it. The fact that this team is .500 with anderson, aguilla, easley, tatis and endy getting significant playing time is beyond me.

I would venture to say that 90% of the runs scored and RBIs are coming from the 1-5 spots. Everything else is a waste of ABs. Other than Tatis HR yesterday, their bench is an utter joke. And Schneider just plain sucks at the plate.

is WFAN reporting this based on something the mets have said, or based on what "the Daily News has learned" from this morning?

That much I do not know...which is why I am hoping this is just their "speculation"...

And to me this is not exactly a good thing, because Omar to this point, has pretty much sat on his hands, thinking that this trend will continue - false sense of security if he thinks the Mets can ride these clowns for the rest of the season.

That, and he seems to think that the best poilcy for filling holes is to keep picking from other teams scrap heaps in the belief he'll be genious enough to find a miracle cure a la Valentin '06. Never mind he's not pulled that off once since.

And at least when he tried Valentin, Chavez, etc, they each had something on the table they could offer (despite each getting off to bad starts in 2006).

Of the recent guys, only Nixon had a real track record, but he sucked ass as well.

If Church DOES end up having to shut it down for the season, Omar will now be FORCED to go out and get an OF. What I fear now is that the Level B players like Winn or Ibanez are now going to cost a ton, since the Mets will not be dealing from a strong position.

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.
