| Super Moderator | Yankees never really expressed interest. Jerome from Manhattan is probably going to suffer a conniption tonight. Good deal for the Brews, though LaPorta will crack the Indians OF right away. He's the real deal, IMO. They are taking their run. Good for them. On the bright side (from a Mets point of view), they will have to choose between CC and Sheets this winter. Sheets could end up a Met, especially if Pedro and Ollie walk. |

| Shame we are still festering around a playoff spot and contention here, or I would like to see if the Rays have any interest in Wagner. Fleece them of a few prospects, not like their farm is hurting for them or anything. |

| I wonder how long before the Brewer fans ***** and moan about CC if he is a .500 pitcher?

| Great trade for the Brewers. Yes, they gave up a stud hitting prospect (expendable since they lacked a position for him) for a potential rental but they'll either sign Sabathia or get 2 draft picks, where with the way they've drafted recently might even be more valuable long-term. |

| Right after he signs the biggest contract for a pitcher in history and blames Prince Fielder for his giving up a Grand Slam to an AL pitcher (who swung with his eyes closed).

| Good, I hope they bury the Cubs (who I hate irrationally, for some reason) and Cardinals (who I hate for obvious reasons, including but not limited to La Russa and Pujols).

| Jul 8 Bart Hubbuch, of the New York Post, reports the New York Mets talked with the Cleveland Indians about acquiring Milwaukee Brewers SP CC Sabathia in exchange for four prospects. Mets general manager Omar Minaya eventually declined a potential deal because the team had not decided how aggressive they wanted to be before the trade deadline. |

| Senior Member | I have no problem with Omar skipping out on CC. I think he's another Colon waiting to happen. I'm sure he'll have a couple more good years, but you cant carry around that weight forever. Besides, starting pitching has not really been the Mets problem this year |
