Reyes, despite all the complaints, is really putting up some nice numbers this year.

Hey I call it like I see it. Last year Rollins pissed on Reyes. This year Reyes is putting up better numbers. He is not the problem with this team.

I think Reyes is one great manager from putting together an MVP season. I don't think Manual is that manger, however. Someone like Leyland would do wonders with Reyes in refining his game.

wtf? I just looked up Rollins numbers, he's no more than adequate this season hitting .267 with a .770 OPS

he's only ever had one outstanding season, and 3 with .800+ ops
stats: ESPN - Jose Reyes Stats, News, Photos - New York Mets

reyes this year is having a comparable season to 2006

That article states Reyes was a day shy of his 21st birthday when he made his debut. I seem to remember him being 19, a day shy of his 20th birthday. The Times should do better than that.

On the topic of newspaper columns...does anyone here get the Star Ledger? There's usually a page with bits of info from around baseball thats there every sunday, but wasnt there this week. What gives?
