| That's the reason Manual said he took Santana out. He said "even though he only threw 95 pitches, in a game like this everything is somewhat stressful" Dear god, we've got another retard running this sinking ship. Can we go out and hire a manager with a fully functioning brain?

| Face it, no matter how much we may not like it.... Mandolph is going to be here for the rest of the 2008 season. As I have said before, I doubt ANY Manager will be able to turn this team of schmucks around, so we might as well stop thinking the Manager will turn miracles here. Until the Mets have a huge fire sale, things wont get better. Even then, it will take a long time for a turnaround. It sucks, but its true. |

I would rather see that, and see a young team grow with CitiField than watch this puddle of vomit every day.

| I agree. Instead of Older and Crappy, I want to see a Younger, and Scrappy team that actually cares about winning. Build around Wright and Reyes. I still feel that Santana will be a good acquistion over the long term. Watching this current group of Mets is unbearable. |

| That quote sounds eerily like Santana asked out. Don't want to insinuate, of course, but that quote is just weird. He took him out because of stress?

Would it have killed them to have kept Nick Evans up here instead of guys like Aquila, Cancel, Phillips and whatever other scrubs I'm missing. I can take losing with young hungry players but I cant stand watching retreads and overpaid mercenaries

| Nick Evans sucked. I am not losing any sleep because they didn't call up Nick Evans. They didn't lose this game because of Aguila, though he didn't help. They lost this game because of Santana and the middle of the lineup sucking, as usual.

2. If you think giving up 2 runs in 8 innings against a top offensive team is "sucking" then I no longer can take anything you say seriously as it shows you lack any baseball knowledge whatsoever.

2. In my post I meant to attach "sucking" to the middle of the order. Santana didn't suck (that is what Pedro has been doing), he just didn't pitch a good game. I know you will say he did, how he only gave up two runs to that offense, blah, blah, blah. But in my mind there is a different scale of what a good game is for a guy who is supposed to be the best pitcher in the baseball; and a game can not be considered well pitched, by said ace, if he is given a two run lead which is gone by the time he leaves the game. Sorry. You can think I am an idiot but I am not going to change my mind. If you went back through time and interviewed any supposedly great pitcher they would not have been happy with that game. I hate to use this as an example but the other night Hamels lost a shut out with two outs in the ninth and then got pulled in a game that the Phils were up by a few runs. He comes to the dugout and looks pissed, like he just gave up the lead. I don't see Santana having the same reaction, and maybe it doesn't matter and it is just something that fans like to see, but in my mind it tells me something about that player. The fact that Santana, appears to shrug off these games with a "well I did my job" attitude, is at least a little bit concerning.
