Default 4th of July IGT: Santana Goes Kaboom

I don't start these, hardly ever, so I'm doing this before I leave for work. Line-ups to follow later.

Steve, do you ever sit at your computer, look up at the ceiling, stare back at your computer screen, maybe look in a mirror, and then go back to the computer screen and think, "Wow, I'm f*cking worthless"? - DDP

McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

It would be a great ****ing day for Johan to start a string of dominating performances, aka, doing his job.

A pitcher with a tendency towards giving up home runs pitching in that ballpark.

Normally I'd say todays game is the kind of game Johan was traded for and he needs to step up huge, but we all know it doesn't matter. Even if Johan throws a no hitter today, the Mets arent doing better than splitting this series to continue their trend of mediocrity.

Or lets put it another way, if by some shock the Mets actually win this series, they'll get everyone all hyped up figuring with SF and Col up next they'll be sitting in a good spot going into All-star weekend. Instead they would then come home and go 2-4 against those teams putting them right back where they are now.

A sweep one way or the other would be the only thing that would surprise me.

True. But he did have one of his best outings there earlier in the year.

It was against Hamels, too. Santana went 7 IP, 3 ER, 1 HR, and 10 K.

On a side note, Hamels has been pitching like a maniac. In the last month, 46.2 IP, 41 K, 0.83 WHIP, 2.31 ERA and 4 wins. On the season he only has three games where he didn't pitch 7 or more innings. I'd say get that kid out of CBP, but he actually pitches better at home.

I'd put my money on Perez or Maine before Santana.

Santana pitches great when it's less than 74° but more than 75°.

You are delusional if you think Santana will be a factor in this game. Mets coming off a road trip, traveling to Phila, scoring big time in last game in St. Louis, will be shut out for at least 7 innings tonight. This is the kind of game they don't even bother showing up for.

My prediction: Santana will give up 3 runs through 6.2 IP, and the Mets lose 6-1.

He finally developed a 3rd pitch. His curve ball used to suck but was really improved in the brief flashes I saw last night.

We need to jump on the kid Happ early tonight and set the tone for the series.
