Default Can Santana beat TBD?

I hear the guy is pretty good and will be going tomorrow for the Phils. Seems so unfair how these teams keep throwing their best guy at us when Santana pitches.

Will Santana blame the umpire, his teammates or the fans for his 4-3 loss?

I've seen TBD pitch before. He has some zip on his fastball, but can't locate it enough to keep a job at the MLB level.

I'll go with C) The birds flying around the stadium were a huge distraction.

TBD seems to channel his inner CY Young everytime the Mets come to town. The Problem is that the Mets approach when facing TBD is to hack at the first pitch, leading to seemless 1,2,3 innings.

Pat Burrell already assured TBD that he'd get him the lead in the 1st with a monster HR.

We haven't had too much blame for non-human elements like the weather or the condition of the pitching mound. A better pitcher would change it up more often, leave us guessing more.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

You guys really are miserable shitstains.

How do you expect Santana to perform when he is dealing with the death of Chris Cullen.

A little sympathy please? Good lord.

Well, if Santana and the Mets **** the bed this weekend, Cerrone has us covered:

In reality, even if the Mets drop three of four in Philadelphia, they’ll be just six losses back of the Phillies, which, with 73 games left in the season, is hardly insurmountable – just ask the Phillies.

He may even miss the start on bereavement leave.

I like that.

So it's like if the Mets ever are down 0-3 in the NLCS or WS we can rest easy because its "hardly insurmountable," just ask the 2004 Red Sox?

Look, the Phils are playing like miserable shitstains, but do you see a 2007 Phillies "run" in this Met team?

I love how our jokes and hyperbole in 2 weeks become reality with this team

This reminds me of the people who were using "2006 Cardinals!" as a rallying cry when it was noted that the Mets weren't going to do sh*t in the playoffs because of how crappy they were playing down the stretch last season. Of course the Mets made the point moot by collapsing entirely, but that's another story.

It's as if they don't realize situations like the 2006 Cardinals and 2007 Mets/Phillies are so remarkable precisely because they happen so infrequently. Yes, it can happen. And it probably will. Every twenty years or so.
