Default Phil Mushnik - MOFO Reader??

From his column in today's Post...

Quote:
Meantime, the Mets continue to attach pre-determined values and precious metal designations to their tickets. There's platinum, gold and silver, when Moe, Larry and Curly would make for more valid enterprise. "Everybody clap your hands!" now blares from the Shea public address system less as a bush-league canned prompt than it does as a come-on for sarcasm.

I wonder who was the first MOFOite to make fun of that. I think it was 15 Day DL...

It wouldn't surprise me that these writers peruse blogs, and boards such as these to get a pulse on what the fans are thinking.

If I ever see Kevin James on the street, I will punch him to the ground, and then stomp on his balls while I scream at the top of my lungs "LETS GO METS" over and over.

Maybe not five times a game, but nearly every other MLB team uses that "Clap Your Hands" as well. It's a stupid, idiot cheer.

I kind of like the "Let's Go Mets" video cheer - that guy just looks like he's really into it, pleading with the attendance as it were. Still, it's best when the fans do it on their own, like "Jose, Jose, Jose".

For everytime the fans actually clap, I think there are at least 10 times when the crowd just sits there, with a look of "Are they kidding me?"

I heard it at a minor league game I went to here in Greensboro. No response either.

In fact, with all the noise that I was bombarded with from the PA for 9 innings, I have made that the LAST game I'm going to here. I can't take all that crap.

Muschnick also destroyed El Crappo in that article. He called him the most indifferent fielder he's ever seen. I guess it's just his imagination running wild with that one right Jersey?

Mushnick's been yapping about, and railing against, this sort of overly loud canned music and fake 'cheers' for years now - whether it be at Shea, at YS, at MSG, or wherever.

I don't get to hear Mets' broadcasts all that much, and the sound on MLB.com is usually pretty bad, but but did I notice a change in that "everybody clap yo hands" thing recently? Like, there's a different voice? One less "ethnic" sounding? Did they change that chant recently? And if so, wonder why?
