Default Fred can still step in and fix this organization.

From most indications it seems that Fred is regarded and respected as a stately gentleman while Jeff is seen as your typical imputent "rich guy's kid" who gets the plum job as heir apparent to the family business just because he is who he is. Fred still has the ability to take his son to the side and tell him that he has to mature as an executive or else he will just get an outsider to be the COO and put it in his will that the team be sold upon his death. If he really sees what is going on (which is debatable) he can stop it.

Didnt he already do that once? Wasn't it Big Freds plan to go in clean out the front office, reorder things, and then step away and let the baseball people control the baseball things..... That was the whole 2004-2005 transition.

Well that lasted all of about 15 mins....

You're assuming he perceives there is a problem to fix. Remember, Freddie gets to reap the tickets sold for this season, the tickets for Citifield's inaugural season, SNY and the naming rights...lots and lots of revenue should make him not only a rich man but a happy rich man.

Think of it this way...do you think the Girls Gone Wild guy holds his head in shame because he's not making Oscar winning movies? No, he's damned proud of the money he's raking in.

The Wilpons screwed themselves out of ever being taken seriously with the way they treated Willie.

and Willie has screwed himself over ever being taken seriously again as a manager candidate with the way he managed baseball games.

Willie will get another job. No question about it.

The FACT that the Wilpons still hasn't spoken about the situation just proves Joshie's point.

I am no Wilpon defender, but I don't imagine many owners would have stayed silent after they had been accused of staging a public relations campaign and playing the race card by one of their own employees, whom they gave a chance when nobody else would, despite the fact that they had no experience at all. Then Willie actually called them out again on Monday for not having his back on top of it, which is even more ridiculous...

The Wilpon's should have fired him when he made his stupid comments, or at least defended themselves. Willie shouldn't get a pass for the mess he helped make just because the front office screwed it up though...

Forget Willie for a sec. Where's their comments on the accusations of TonyB getting too much power? Where's Wilpon defending Omar after that press conference? I know Omar's on the hot seat, but you just can't pretend the club isn't embarrassed after all this...and may still be if the Mets don't take care of business in Colorado.

Say what you want about Hank Stein, he has shown accountability for his stupid comments. Where's the accountability on the Mets?

He has? It seems like he follows up his stupid comments with even dumber ones. While his personal hand puppet Kevin Kernan claims that Hank is always right.
