Default Dear Mets:

Dear Mets:

I have quit on you and your lousy organization for 2008. Please do not attempt to drag me back into caring about the team this year. Immediately cease gaining ground in the standings and making miraculous comebacks late in the game. If you continue this course of action, I will be forced to issue a restraining order. It is in everyone's best interest that you continue your apathetic play and go about cashing your big paychecks.

Very truly yours,

Your pal from Medford

Gary said "hopefully" in front of "tuning point". The long and the short of it is that I am still rooting for this team, even if I don't really believe in it.
Why? I 'm a Giant fan... did we believe in the Giants all year? They ended up doing the incredible.

Honestly, I don't believe in THIS group of players. The roster needs an enema. IMO, all this good feeling (based on just one game mind you) will be short-lived, and will ultimately end up in disappointment again. This team is still full of holes, and Manuel being here isn't simply going to fix all that. I don't trust Omar at all, especially after all this crap.

Easley isn't going to hit GW home runs every night to bail his team out.

That said, getting Reyes and Wright going in the right direction, is a start... but there are people on the roster that simply need to go.

I doubt he'll hit another this year.

That's the Reader's Digest version, or Cliff notes.

I keep hoping that I'll end up like Randy Quaid in Major League 2. Constantly doubting these "turning points", always saying "Ahh they're still lousy, they're never going to make it" and then they do and I get to leap out of my chair (while wearing my Johan jersey with black duct tape over it fashioned in the shape of an X) and say "ALRIGHT YOU ALIEN *******S, I'M BAAAAAAAAAACK!"

Oh...mixed up two movies there.

These chumps are dragging us back in. Time to lose 3 of the next 4. We're like yo-yo fans.
