Default Could this justify the timing?

I had been thinking about this and heard something similar on WFAN so here it is....

Omar met with Willie after the game and told him "We are cleaning house. We are getting rid of some of the coaches and keeping you"

Willie refused and because of that, he was let go "on the spot". Maybe the Mets thought he would accept the deal...

Nevertheless we can still ask about the timing but could this be the reason of the "happenings"?

Possible, but not probable. He's going to throw himself on a sword for two coaches he had nothing to do with? As "positive" as Willie is, you had to believe HE believed he could turn this thing around.

Unless he knew he was being backstabbed through upper-management leaks to his players... but I don't get the sense he wanted to lose his job. He's not an angry/reactionary "eff you" type like a Pinella or a Billy Martin. That may have been one of the problems with him in the first place.

But if he did... kudos. "Don't take no sh*t off nobody."

If the Skanks don't make the playoffs this year, Willie will be managing them in 2009.

interesting but that would really be stupid on willie's part. He was the steward of the biggest collapse ever and his team has been playing uninspired ball all year. Even he had to realize heads had to roll.

Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

I highly doubt it. Steamboat had nothing to do with the hiring of the coaches in the first place. Why would he care enough to get upset about guys that Omar hired(with little to no input from Willie) being fired?

Why would Willie cover that up if it was the case? What would be his incentive to pretend he was fired if it was more of a resignation induced by a disagreement with management?
