Default Current standings....

The Mets are closer to last than they are to first. The Nationals are 6.5 games behind them, while the Disgracin's are 7.5 games behind Philly.

The Mets are tied with the Braves, who have lost SIX starting pitchers (including Smoltz, Glavine, Jurrjens, Hampton) to injury this season, and two closers (Soriano and Boyer...three if you count Smoltz, too).

The Pirates have a better record than the Mets. The PIRATES, who we all felt sorry for Nady having been traded to...

Meanwhile, Philly got a win today with Jamie Moyer, while Johan Santana gets a no-decision after pitching his best game as a Met.

It's gonna be a fun summer. LOL...

Be happy you don't live in Philly with a die hard Phillies fan. I don't know if I am going to be able to take an entire summer of having the Phillies on the TV every single night.

Having the phils on is probably the 2nd best thing to having the mets on for you...I halfway think you are a closet phils fan anyway...

Not to make any excuses because there are none but the Mets have had more then their share of injuries so screw the Braves. Besides losing glavine is a plus for them.

GET THE PIECE OF CRAP McGimpy OFF MY TEAM NOW!!!!!

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

Haven't heard that one before. I wish I was, it would make for a much more pleasant summer.

Yeah, I mean why not root for a team that hasn't won a post season game since 1993, during which time the Mets have won 20.

Maybe you should have become and Eagles fan too. That one would have worked out nicely for ya.

Every team in the AL East has a better record than the Mets.

Every team in the NL Central (except Reds by .06) has a better record than the Mets. Reds will have a better record than the Mets by end of weekend.

Yes...go ahead and base who you root for on wins/losses and post season accolades....pretty sure that's called something....what a stupid post.

About as stupid as rooting for a team based on present performance.

But what's even more stupid on my part is arguing with a cheese steak eating loser who is probably fat, lives with mom and has barely a high school education.

Agreed. Also, the same (true) accusation against the Mets is that they relied on too many older, injury prone players. So did the Braves, so they're just as dumb, and it was one of the reasons I couldn't believe all the love they were getting.
