| At this point I'm not even putting them in rank order, just brainstorming... 1992 2002 2007 2008 I suppose some M Donald Grant team from the 70's/80's makes it... I'd still go with '92 because of Vince "firecracker" and Bobby Bo.... Last year with the collapse is up there.... But so is this one... |

| 1987 was tough to take. Wasn't that the year Strawberry and McReynolds were prancing around the Wrigley Field clubhouse in their underwear while their teammates were furiously rallying from a 6 run 9th inning deficit in a game they both thought had ended? Strawberry struck out swinging on a terrible pitch to end it if my memory serves. |

| Interesting that 2003 isn't on that list. I didn't really hate that team because they had almost zero talent, so they didn't underachieve, and I think they tried hard despite their limitations.

| This one is surpassing that Saberhagen/Coleman/Murray/Bonilla/WILLIE F*CKING RANDOLPH!!! team. I think it actually has it beat. The only thing that gives me pause is that at least most of the players on this team seem like decent human beings. Those guys were a bunch of douche bags. |

But as each day passes, this team is making quite a case to be #1. | |

| I never really hated a team before this one.

| This team. Sorry, but I have NEVER hated a Mets team like I hate this one. It's not that they're bad guys like some of the other teams mentioned. It's that they are a bunch of pansy-assed pussies. Total choke artists and losers. I am madly in hate.

| 2003 was a lousy year, but everyone who was worth hating was gone by the all-star break. After that it wasn't worth getting mad at a team that just was bad...and at least they tried for the most part. They just weren't any good. |

| In 1993 I was at one of the longest rain delays in MLB history. They were playing the Giants and we actually waited there for over 3.5 hours for play to resume. As soon as it did, Barry Bonds hit one off the aforementioned Eric Hilman that I think landed in Albany. It was 243 degrees. It was also towel day. Both my new, paper-thin towel and I were soaked. |

| The 2007 team is the most detestable, because they had by far the most talent, had the lead from the beginning of the season to the last few days, and lost it to an injury-plagued, less talented team because they simply "got bored." Eff them, and this less talented but a tiny bit more likable bunch. (Church over Mota alone makes it more likable).
