Alou feels 35 again - he's really confident he can stay healthy this year.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

Willie Randolph, who somehow survived 2008's one hundred loss campaign, says he can't wait to get into Citifield. Says Randolph, "Have you seen those new benches in the dugout with the built in head rests? A man can get some good sleeping in on those bad boys."

I wonder why Chase Utley preemptively named his newborn son "Citifield." Oh well, I'm sure the New New Mets will handle the Phils in the Citifield opener.

The WS champions usually get to open at home so I doubt we will be facing the Phils on Opening day next year at Citifield.

Delgado is happy the Mets picked up his option, and is ready to show the world that he's back.

No, you see, the Mets opened their season when they lost that fluke of a three-game sweep in Philly... now they play the Phils again to open Citifield. (Finally! I thought the three-week homestand the Yankees got to open their new stadium would never end).

I'm sure these New New Mets will handle the Phillies this time. I'm really glad they signed Mark Texeira; all the writers saying the Mets only signed him because the Yankees didn't want him are just jealous. I'm sure he'll get on track soon.
