Default Looks like Alou back to DL

Alou basically said so on pre-game. Unbelievable.

McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

I wonder if Omar is still pleased with his decision to resign him?

It was a "no-brainer" in some circles around here.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

It was, as long as you had a suitable back-up (there lies Omar's big failure).

If insurance is going to pay his salary, no harm in leaving him on the DL.

I still say it was....when on the field he's worth every penny. The problem wasnt resigning him, the problem was going into the season with Chavez and Pagan as the primary backup.

I said back then I'd be OK with Alou if they signed a credible fourth OFer... of course they didn't.

If last June taught us one thing, it's that replacing even just one good player on this team with one bad player can cause the entire house of cards to collapse (when the key to success might just be being able to replace a good player with a not-horrible player). It's the same with counting on Duque - they need/needed to be prepared for him going down at the worst possible time - which he has, consistently; and they never have been.

I bet you they wait a week or so before placing him on the DL. That way they can play short. They love doing that.

Signing him for under $8 mill WAS a no-brainer.

Not having a suitable 4th OF was a "no" brainer.
