| They know how to lose in innovative ways that involves almost the whole team. It seems that in every game, someone else takes a turn blowing the game. Either a starter can't get through the first inning, the closer can't seal the deal, a reliever gives up a homerun or two, an infielder boots a ball that leads to runs, manager mismanages the pen, medical staff misdiagnoses an injury, etc. Long gone are the days when we can pin the losses consistently on a bad closer like Benitiez. The bottom line is that this team, despite its "talent", consists of a bunch of losers. That's what they know how to do best, and they rarely disappoint. BTW - I didn't even tune in last night. There really is no reason to at this point.

| The collective talent needs to be called into question as well. No part of this team - lineup, bench, rotation, bullpen, manager, GM, etc. - is good enough to even minimally cover for the deficiencies in the other facets of the club. I can't argue that there's isn't a pervasive attitude problem, but I don't think it's only a problem of losing personalities or environment. There's way too much dead wood on the team.

| I agree. Too many automatic outs in the offense and pitchers that can't get anyone out.

| This team's bench is bad. 2003 bad.
