| 1) Why couldn't he have pitched THIS line last September 30th? The Tigers optioned Willis to Lakeland of the Florida State League—and home to the Tigers’ spring training camp—a day after he matched a career high by giving eight earned runs on five walks and three hits in 1 1-3 innings against Cleveland. 2) Would the Mets EVER do this? I mean, they won't even send PELFREY down to AAA, where he belongs. Not to mention Perez and Heilman. Tigers option Willis to Class A Lakeland - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

| I'd take him to play in the outfield. The guy can hit.

| Willis was demoted because he was hardly given a chance to pitch coming off his latest injury. The Tigers rushed him back without a proper rehab assignment and they're making up for it now. We'd rightly be cursing the Mets if they did something like this.

| Willis' only chance may indeed be to pull an Ankiel....
