Default Carp.

When do we see this guy at Shea? What have the got to lose by releasing Delgado and calling him up this year? If he sucks, we can always call him Crap.

They should promote him to AAA in the next few weeks and see how he handles it. I don't know if he's any kind of answer for this year, though.

If he can play any kind of LF the Mets should go hard after Teixeira.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

metfish loves this guy, although I cannot for the life of me figure out why. Maybe they went to schools together.

Brazell was 23 in 2003 with an .799 OPS in 432 AA at-bats (league average was .731) when he got the call to AAA.

Carp is 21 and he's got a .957 OPS in 208 AA at-bats (league average is .745).

No guarantees, but Carp is doing everything he needs to be doing right now.

Yes, of course.

Oh wait, you asked if he was "back on the field." I thought you asked if he "hurt his back on the field."

Unfortunately, you bring this up when Delgado has been one of the only people hitting in the lineup the past four days. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

But he loved Catfish Hunter, Chico Salmon and, for some reason, Dick Pole.

Set your clock for his next 1 for 25. Color me not impressed. He's done this before this season (hits well in 2-3 game spurts)....

Hell, he did it in his "good" season (2006) as well. Doesn't anyone remember the month-long slumps during that year when he was a completely useless piece of sh*t? The only difference now is that instead of his hot streaks lasting two or three weeks, they're lucky if they make it through a series.

And of course last season in AAA, Craig Brazell hit .315 with 39 HR and 91 RBI in the KC organization...

He's now with the Seibu Lions in Japan...
