| For 5th starter? He had a 3.88 ERA in Texas, but got pissed after he helped out the team going on 3 days rest, only to be booted when Kevin Millwood came back. The team released him because he was a distraction, but he was having a nice year on the mound. |

| Super Moderator | Geez, ANYTHING to get rid of Pelfrey. Unless he can suddenly play OF and hit, no thank you. The guy was kicked off the team for conduct detrimental to the team, the Texas Rangers, who are always hard up for pitching. What does that say? Quote:

| 25 K in 55+ IP? No thanks. He was due to become Mike Pelfrey, and we have a Mike Pelfrey already.

| I think Pelfrey is what he is, and he's a fine fifth starter on any team (and if he ever learns how to strike guys out, I think he'll be a fine starter)... but much more was expected of Perez, and so much less has been delivered. He needs to step up, and Pedro needs to stay healthy and step up.

On the pitching side in general, Perez and Heilman are the two guys that need to do 180s if the Mets are going to go anywhere.
