Default Tatis.

I'm kinda liking this guy right about now. It's tough to tell what we might get out of him but I know that at one point he was a pretty feared hitter. I think they should keep him in favor of certain other players when everyone gets back.

Anyway, I never remember him being in great shape but the guy looks solid as a rock and hustled his ass off going from first to third tonight.

It's good to see that the guy is making the most of his chance.

I was at the game tonight. What impressed me was his running from 1st to 3rd on a single. He busted it to 3rd base and really seemed to running reasonably fast. So far so good. I hope he can make the most out of this opportunity.

Good righty off the bench. I hope he keeps it up.

I'll say this about the guy, he has slimmed down tremendously. I'm not going to jump on his bandwagon yet, but looking at the before-and-after of the guy, he looks like someone who wants to be here. And that's a little bit of a change. Get him some playing time at 1B when Church and if Alou comes back.

I'm still trying to figure out who the second Fig is.

Newton? Yeah I know... that was bad.

As for Tatis...good to see him do well. Hopefully he'll keep it going...I love productive bench/roll players. (like Easley of last year)

When they stop throwing him fastballs his support and average will dwindle. Every time from Scutaro to Pagan we go through this. Give it a few more ab's when the league catches up to him.

I'll enjoy it FWIW. With Marlon and his tear in his hammy, i would guess Tatis would get to stick around a while once the Evans experiment is over.

Nice production, but I wouldn't be surprised if half of the people sucking him off today are trashing him in 4 weeks.

I'd like to see Pornstache make it back soon.

I liked both Fig and Chavez, but one as a back of the rotation starter and one as a late inning defensive replacement. Chavez, despite his poor hitting this year, had a few very productive years with the Mets. I never suggested that Chavez or Fig would be stars nor am I suggesting the same with Tatis. I am simply saying that he can do a decent job in the right role.

FWIW, the Mets always seem to have a role player who steps up year to year. Last year it was Easley before he got hurt but people quickly forget that.

The Evans experiment should end quite soon. He was completely overmatched yesterday and took some pretty awful cuts at breaking pitches. Bottom line is, outside of Coors (where breaking balls have a tendency not to break), this kid can't hit a breaking ball. Plus, he almost misplayed that line drive to LF late in the game. This kid is just not ready.

Thats not what Im doing, im just enjoying the ride, if the team is healthy and playing well, he never sees the light of day in NY...

I agree with your second point regarding Valentin.
