Default "We're the team to beat!"

Reference to Beltrans quote this spring. Currently batting .256 with 4 homers. If you are going to make an assertion you should be prepared to put the team on your back and carry them to the promised land (like a certain MVP SS in Philly).

I want 2000 Piazza. Beltran is the most un-rootable (word?) dull ****ing 'star' we've ever had. There, I said it. And I'm still hoping we see that 3rd "HOLY ****" season for his 'holy ****' contract he gets. Tired of defending these dolts. **** 'em, they don't care about you or me.

I've said it since he got here...he's Kevin McReynolds part II.

Agreed. Blowtran might be one of the most un-clutch hitters I have ever seen. Down by 10, late in the game, with nobody on base ? He's Superman. Other times ? Nothing. He really needs to get his Delgado together.

We are the team to beat ? No.

We are the team that gets beat up ? Yes.

Unless something drastic happens, (and today was probably an indicator that it wont).... It is going to be a VERY long Summer for us Met fans. Oh well, we are lousy fans. We deserve it.
