Default Tavarez ????

Tavarez Wants To Pitch For Mets
The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo writes that Bartolo Colon, a close friend of Julian Tavarez, said Tavarez told him that he would prefer to pitch for the New York Mets. Tavarez was recently DFA'd by the Red Sox and elected free agency rather than accepting an assignment to Triple A Pawtucket.

Tavarez could make sense for the Mets in many roles. Jason Vargas and Matt Wise have been ineffective in limited use, while Mike Pelfrey has been very inconsistent over the first two months of the season. The Mets, however, have yet to indicate whether they have interest in the veteran right-hander

Poor Jason Vargas. He hasn't even given the chance to suck and some clueless yutz in Boston claims he already is stinking it up. Tavarez is so bad he makes Sosa look good. Tavarez is also a head hunting scumbag.

It's Claudio Vargas, and he's actually been ok. Wise stinks.

Omar is an idiot if he even entertains the thought, but he loves those Dominicans, so I wouldn't bet against it...

The ONLY reason I see this is because the team doesn't have a long man on the pen and Heilman shouldn't be trusted with THAT role.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

In the mid-'90's, Tavarez was involved in every other Mets trade rumor. That said, he's basically Jorge Sosa without the upside, and I'd pass. If Tavarez wants to hang out in AAA and wait his turn, that's another thing.

The Mets don't need another terrible Latino pitcher.

Well for the people that think the Mets could use a brawl, he could be an answer. He seems to start at least one a year.

I'd much rather just keep Wise though

You gotta be able to get people out to be a long man. Tavarez couldn't get me or you or even Chavy out.

As bad as we are playing right now, this guy is just too damn ugly to be a Met.

Separated at birth?

Tavarez

and

Nosferatu

He is on the verge of signing with the Brew Crew. You gotta love their bullpen (Torres, Mota, Gagne and Taverez) it almost makes the Met bullpen look competant.

Sure Omar go and get us Burgos's twin brother, make sure you give up some white guys though. Maybe Church and Evans?
