| Las Vegas Dave in '06 and '07 started a bunch of Igt's around 24-48 hours before the game, and the Mets went something like 10-0. What with the team inches from last place why not start one up? I have a good feeling about this one. Big Pelfrey is starting this one? Forget about it. Lineups will be up in about twenty hours. |

| I'll be going to the game, I can only imagine how hostile the atmosphere will be the instant the Mets fall behind, particularly if Willie is still the manager.

Unless, of course, they plan to chant "Willie must go" the entire game. | |

| OK, here's my list-- 20 hours early... What we can expect tomorrow night: 1. Willie Randolph will STILL be managing the Mets. 2. Ricky Nolasco will channel Cy Young in his prime. He'll go at least six innings, allow three runs or less, and strike out at least five. 3. Mike Pelfrey will provide a good reason for a trip back to NO. His line? At most, 5 2/3 IP, at least 7 hits, at least 3 BBs, and at least 4 ERs. 4. Jose Reyes will be 0-2 in the count at least once. 5. The Mets will make at least one defensive miscue 6. The Mets will hit into at least on rally-killing DP. 7. If the Mets trail after six, they're NOT coming back 8. Carlos Beltran will K with RISP at least once. 9. Carlos Delgado will K with RISP at least once. 10. At the conclusion of the game's carnage, Steamboat will STILL be the Met manager. It shocks me how easy these lists are to put together... |

| I said they'd bomb Penny and they did. Sometimes you know when they will hit as some pitchers fit their strengths. I guarantee you they will bomb him unless a major player is out of the lineup.

| Oh, it's going to be FUN watching the crowd tomorrow. After all the crappy play AND Willie blaming the fans and the media for his ills? Oh, joy of joys, it's going to be brutal. Those money-stealing c*cksuckers need to hear it... and hear it they will.

| Until they beat up on a 21 year old rookie who can't throw strikes. Then they'll go back to clapping and thinking this team is back. Just like AZ and just like in the toilet in the Bronx. This cycle will never end until the change is made.

| You know what's strange, I was at Comerica Park watching the Tigers vs. Twins yesterday PM (BTW, Carlos Gomez went 1 for 4, with 2R scored and 1 SB). It is so eerie how the Mets and Tigers are so silly. Theoretically, plenty of offense on paper, Ordonez, Cabrera, Sheff, Guillen, yet they only scored 1 run vs. a young Twins pitcher (Perkins). With the game tied in the 8th the bullpen comes in gives up the go ahead grand slam!!! (Yes Tigers fans also boo). I FELT AS IF I WERE AT SHEA! This team is an exact AL replica of the Mets. Yet, when you listen to the radio no one is getting on Leyland for this. Why??? Because he is a proven winner, whereas, Willie HASN'T DONE JACK $HIT with the talent he has been given. I'm returning to NY this evening and if Steamboat is still the manager then I know that the Wilpons have really given up on this season. P.S. I met some Twins fans who are so glad Santana is gone (they actually lament Torii Hunter's leaving more). They said that the whole thing was a distraction for the team last year and part of the reason they didn't get to the post-season. Anyway, with Willie or without him here's hoping that this homestand can right this sinking ship. |
