Default If Pedro came back tomorrow.........

Who would be sent down, Vargas or Pelfrey? Although I think they'd be inclined to keep Pelfrey, it should be Vargas. The guy has done a very nice job and, most importantly, seems to work deep into games.

Figuring that they have a month before he returns( I'm assuming here), I figure Vargas has time to build a case to stick around.

Anyone think Vargas sticks and Pelfrey gets sent down if things keep going the way they have been?

Pedro will be back June 2nd. I'd send Pelfrey down to AAA and tell him "that we wont be looking at the stats. Just throw breaking pitch after breaking pitch, and call us when you have good command of it. You can give up 10 runs a game for all I care. The second you have serious command of your slider and changeup, you'll be on the next flight back up to the team."

I'm guessing Pelfrey goes down.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

And then tell him he'll be back June 5th after Pedro pitches 2/3 of an inning and breaks a hip.

I think Pelfrey has improved significantly during the past couple of weeks, but not enough. He'd be the one I send down to AAA.

No intelligent team sends down Pelfrey, who needs to learn at the major league level, for a guy who is throwing junk and due to get TANKED by GOOD teams.

Well, assuming you're familiar with the Bensonhurst section of Bklyn, I'm somewhere between Bay Parkway & 16th Ave, and 86th St & 75th St.

Wow, Bensonhurst huh? Didn't see that coming.

Tell me, do they still do the 86th Street cruise these days?

Are we talking musclecars here? If so, I haven't seen any in a while. 86th St is waaaay too crowded for my taste.

I knew a guy from Bensonhurst once. His nickname was the "Bensonhurst Bomber".
