| i havent posted here in a while but wanted get the ol' mofo opinion on this. i dont want to see willie fired yet but if he does i think frank robinson would be a great replacement. was always a hard, tough and great player and as a manager he doesnt take any BS from his players. robinson is the type that will chew out a player for not hustling and gets max results from his players. look at what he did with that 2005 nats team the first half of the year in 05 when it was a complete mess with no owner or any talent. i know the guy is old but it wouldnt be a long term deal, just a replacement for the time being. |

| I think that's a very good thought as an interim manager.

| Senior Member | Meh. The guy is 72. The most wins he ever got out of a team was 87. I'm not saying he's had a ton of great clubs, but I think its real easy to overrate managers who do a decent job with bad teams. The Nats had a bunch of young players he could bark at...who's to say how that would go over on a different club. Maybe he was just tired of losing, but he was looking very old and tired by the end of his time there too |

| No. Robinson had no clue at the end of his latest stint. He's an older Willie with a bit tougher reputation, however, he allegedly softened in recent years from the player/manager he was earlier in his career. Pass.
