I see Tatis came crashing back to earth with his 3 Ks. When Church returns to the lineup tomorrow, the OF should be Evans, Beltran, Church.
Not trying to dissect him. Just don't want to see he and the Mets suffer because he got given a starting job too early (the suggestion that started this discussion) and got exposed. Give him some ABs; if it's a fluke, fine, he'll hit RHP. If it's not a fluke, then he has to go back to a place where he can learn how to hit RHP. Simple as that.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

I don't know about giving him a permanent starting job, but based on today, he should be in starting lineup tomorrow. I'd play him over either one of that wonderful Easley/Catchy tandem.

Ride the hot hand. Just as with Tatis.

Definitely a good game to watch. Let's see how Evans performs tomorrow assuming Willy let him play.

I just watched the highlights... the FOX announcer was horrible.

Agreed. I was surprised how comfortable he looked out in LF. He told Crazy Eddie he only played 17 games there. I was surprised he was pulled for defense instead of Tatis.

Kudos to Claudio Vargas. He pitched very well and gave the team good length. He may work at a snails pace but it works for him. The game lasted under three hours so Trax has disowned him. It was nice to see them jump on a struggling pitcher for once. Evans had as an impressive as a Mlb debut as you can have. Castro had a big game and I would have no issue if he plays today ove Slumpy McCan'tcatch. Beltran for the first time in a while came up with a huge hit. I would say hopefully the carry the momentum off a nice win but they never do that.
