Default Mets Not Likely to Host All-Star Game Until 2013

I just noticed that the 2010 All-Star Game may have been awarded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Southern California on Gene Autrey Way.

Link : Angels expected to host 2010 All-Star game - AOL Sports

In the article, it says the Mets are probable for 2013. I had hoped the Mets were the favorites for the 2010 ASG, but it doesnt appear that way.

Selig wanted to go back to alternating between AL and NL...so 2010 is an AL year...

Screw the All Star game. This is one of the reasons why Wilpon won't open the pocket book and defy Selig by going over slot in the draft, because they want this stupid exhibition game so badly. I'm sure 99% of the fans would rather have a better team on the field for 81 games...

Then why did the Yankees get an ASG?

Ah yes. They're the Yankees.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

And that policy has worked so well so far. What we are coming up on the Golden Anniversary of the last time the Mets hosted?

As much as I enjoy the Selig bashing as much as the next guy, you can't blame him here. The game is going to be in NY this year, what message does it send to the rest of the league to come back to NY just two years later. Unfortunately we will have to wait a few more years. At least by then we may have some guys worthy to play in the game.

Ok well we can wait three more years then. You have to think of baseball as a whole. To sell the game it might benefit to have that game somewhere else instead of in NY again. We will get it, and frankly I could care less if Citifield got it. It isn't like any of us are getting tickets.

The Mets might be contracted by 2013.

Fixed.

This team doesn't deserve ANY All-Star Game
