Default ESPN Classic's "Mike Piazza Tribute"

Turned on the TV this morning to see ESPN Classic "paying tribute to Mike Piazza" (they had a logo in the top right hand corner for the entire program) by showing that "classic" Game 2 of the 2000 World Series.

The "Pizza Highlight" consisted of our beloved catcher having a bat shard thrown at him by a roid-rage Clemens, who had beaned him in the head earlier in the year.

This "Piazza Classic" also consisted of that same roid-head dominating the clearly overmatched Mets lineup. So much so, that most of the innings they showed us during this "Piazza Classic" were when the Yankees were batting and scoring.

So, this wonderful Piazza tribute included a game where Piazza's team didn't really show up, their arch-nemesis dominated them, and they lost the second game of a World Series they'd be bounced from in 5 games.

What a bunch of tools at ESPN Classic.

Imagine if Piazza was a......YANKEE???

They would have an ESPN channel dedicated solely to Piazza highlights.

Somewhere, somehow, an ESPN exec just creamed his pants a little.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.
