Not a shock....we all knew Omar did a bad job planning for depth with the rotation.... as much of a bum Lohse has been in the past he wouldnt have been the worst signing in the world, especially at the price the Cards ultimately paid.

FWIW the post says the Mets are front runners for Claudio Vargas and a deal could be done by tomorrow.

Very good insurance....he's not great, but he's better depth than most of the crap the Mets have had in there before
