Default Collapse? What Collapse? This is your team.

So over the first 6 games, it seems the team is doing the exact same thing they did in september. EXACT same thing. Which now begs the question....

Was 2006 the Mets' year? Was the first 3/4 of 2007 just some leftovers, but eventually the team balanced itself out? Is this year just a continuation of that balance?

So really, maybe there was no "collapse." Maybe the team was just playing the way it was capable of playing. And now in 2008, its a continuation of that. This is your mets.

Discuss...

You CANT assess a team after 6 games.

Table this "discussion" until the All Star Break. Even better, August.

No way man! The Orioles, White Sox, Royals, Marlins, and Cards are all making the playoffs. The Mets, Yanks, Red Sox, Cubs, Indians, and Tigers have no chance...

SC = odds on the Marlins winning the NL East...

Agreed. While none of us can be happy right now, talks of a "collapse" are WAYYYY premature. While I am very concerned the Manager and team look like they couldnt give a crap, and everything looks way too similar to the final weeks of last season..... its only ONE WEEK into the season. Hopefully, they will get out of their "funk" soon. I still feel this team can play much better than they are right now.

the Manager's biggest problem yesterday is the best lefty asset he had in the pen was not in the stadium until the 7th inning had apparently concluded. Feliciano was home tending to a family emergency and his original flight was cancelled and he was routed through Orlando.

Relief pitchers have bad years, but Schoenewiess ain't going to get it done at Shea. The Mets play in a division with a score of tremendous left handed power hitters and switch hitters who are more dangerous from the left side. Feliciano alone is not going to cut it, and I don't care to watch Schoenewiess try to fix himself.

While people whine about Castillo and the 5th starter, it is overlooked how this spot needs to be addresses, and not with tape, they need to get their hands on a serious lefty to shorten games.

Until and if the Mets get "healthy", they are a .500 team.

If the Mets lose today (probable) they will be 2-1 against crap teams and 0-4 against contenders.

They had Rincon who pitched extremely well during the spring after coming back nicely....not sure he's the "answer" but he cant be any worse than The Character....

Perhaps not, but I am a patient man and I have no tolerance for Doug Sisk from the left side. He needs to go, now. I'd just assume watch Rincon struggle to achieve than more nibbling on the part of the character.

It was pointed out by some yesterday "that he did do his job" in inducing the groundball, but I seem to recall it was he who loaded the bases in order to need that groundball.

not for nothing but one of those contenders I believe is no 0 wins 5 losses from their bullpen, that is a huge problem for them too.

Schoenweis himself said this after the game. Apparently, HE knows he's crap, too.

all kidding aside, at least he acknowledges his failure, but I have little faith he will get it together here.

Jose Reyes.

When he stinks the Mets stink.

The Pen doesn't help either.
