Default Dump Willie, Dump Omar, Start Over.

Then sell the team.

Just a recommendation.

I agree with some of this.

Sorry, I can't blame Omar for the coaching staff failing to teach these guys to use their brain.

Now... it would help if anyone on the staff, besides St. Rick, had a brain as well.

I'm not huge on the dump Omar bandwagon, but Willie's another story. He needs to be gone . The thing is, from what we have read, Omar put his head on the chopping block for Willie, so if Willie goes, I suspect Omar goes too.

What's Omar done to give that impression? I don't think thats the case at all.

Agreed. Omar let Willy hang out to dry for a good day or so before committing to him.

BTW, did I hear correctly during today's game that Gotay basically was ripping Willie...saying that the reason they lost last season was not due to players but rather because of Willie. As much as I am not crazy about Willie, that POS Gotay has some nerve. Maybe if that ***** could hit lefties and play some defense the Mets may have won a few more games.

Now in terms of Willie, this guy is just clueless with a pen to begin with. When you have pretty much the same subpar bullpen you had last year you get the same crappy results as last year. With our suspect starting rotation and an idiot manager, the pen needs to be fixed ASAP.

Teams usually take their cues from the manager, who at times last season, DID display the same blase, cavalier attitude that certain players carried around.

Then explain why Torre is going to Cooperstown and Bowa is going nowhere.

Rich, no one said for Willie to be a complete tool like Bowa (who was a lousy game manager in addition to being a first class creep). A team who repeatedly makes the same, lazy, bonehead, not paying attention type of mistakes... at some point, some blame lies at the feet of the manager. Not to mention that Willie's bullpen management is still horrific... though in fairness, I think the CEO of Pitching has a lot of say in that.

While I will certainly give you that Torre was the beneficiary of top talent and big budget, and he's an average manager at best...I wouldn't say he was blase or didn't give a sh!t.

I'm not even a "Willie-hater", but...

Agreed. Gotay should shut his mouth more often. Separate from whether the substance of his comments has merit, it's not his place to diss his former manager and team to the media.

Not quite - he said he had no problem with the Mets players, but had a problem with Randolph...but it was in reference to him being cut this spring, not to last year. Of course, all Joe **** said was about Gotay saying "it's not the players, it's the manager," which pretty much took the whole thing out of context...
