Hello, Would like to ask for advice on seating at Chase Field in Phoenix if anyone has been there. We are planning to attend the Friday evening game when the Mets visit on May 2nd. Any thoughts on where to sit? We would like to be close to the field but prefer seats with some shade if the roof is going to be open (anyone know what the criteria is for when the roof is open or closed for a game?). Thanks in advance for anyone who has been there and can help. Metsfan

I sat in the middle level. I thought my seats were good. A LOT of Met fans were on hand for the game...they called it "Shea West". Right across the alley from the stadium is a bar called "Sliders". After the game it was jam packed with Met fans... | |

Great ballpark. Plenty of seating options. I caught the D'Backs -Braves game there years ago. I actually bought three seats the day of the game (online) and they were pretty nice seats. I saw them play in July so the roof was closed as it was 106 degrees outside. Very comfortable 72 degrees inside though with the roof closed.

Thanks for the feedback on Chase Field seating. I actually see some reasonably priced (greater than season ticket game price but cheaper than single game price on D'Backs website) infield box seats available on stubhub.

The game starts at 6:40pm in Arizona...based on whether you are on the sunny versus shady side of the stadium (never been to Chase Field so I don't know for sure if that exists but it does in most stadiums I have been to), you may have the sun on you and it may be in the 80's during May (assuming roof is open).

Well, according to the Diamondbacks website, Shea Stadium West is situated with home plate straightaway to CF directly north, so to avoid the sun, if there is any, the best seats look to be along the 3rd base side. ![]()
