The problem with your Bay/Holliday comment is their contracts. I don't think there's a person on the planet who'd argue that Holliday is the better player. Yes, Bay stinks right now. But, 4 years vs. 7 years was the reason they went with Bay over Holliday. Not, because of a $1 mil difference in their per year salaries.

The only thing you can say about Bay is, his struggles at the plate have just been there. He's played great D and if you believe the players he's tremendous in the clubhouse. Fluke or not, the team has been much better with him on the field than not this year and last.....and for whatever reason he hits at Citi just not at all on the road....

| Oh, and Bay has an option - supposedly it's easily obtainable - that will make his package - hee hee! - worth 5/80 mill.

| Actually - it's kind of ironic, as the Mets signed Bay right as they were doing the season ticket packages to try to get a bump in interest/sales/etc. How's that working out for you, Mr. Wilpon? |

| Senior Member | And anyone notice that Justin Morneau is hitting .231/.299/.328? I know concussions are no joke, but you start to wonder if the chicken or the egg comes first here. If this were a hip thing like Delgado had I would be a lot more optimistic that a breakout is possible, but there's a great chance it's more than physical... |

And totally off topic. SC, your Johnie's might be losing one of their big B-ball recruits. A lefty who works low to mid 90's sounds like a great pick if you're willing to pay over slot... Amir Garrett update « B3: Big, Bald and Beautiful
