| That was great but with a temper like that the Wilpons are never going to promote him. It was ok until he started throwing **** and then got pretty embarrassing.

| I understand manager tantrums tickle fans in just the right places but it doesn't make him a good manager.

And if you're gonna go that route, go with Ray Knight. At least he has the balls to knock out the other teams douchebag instead of the water cooler...

| Yeah, I'd say that if the Wilpons saw that video, you can pretty much bet Backman will never manage above the AAA level in the Mets system. They don't like that kind of over-the-top fire/half-crazy reactions from their managers. Think about how Art Howe was their dream manager. "We knew in five minutes he was our guy." "He LIT UP the room!" Just so happened the teams they handed him sucked nuts, or he'd probably STILL be here. They love SAFE, and they keep hiring "safe." Duquette? SAFE. They knew him. Omar, safe... they knew him. Rico (who will replace Omar) SAFE. They know him. Bob Melvin, who will replace Jerry? SAFE. Backman? Valentine? Manny Ramirez? Not safe.

| One of the more childish things I've seen. Getting in an umpire's face over a BS call is a good thing, but childish tantrums are not the sign of a good manager.
