Default Kindler, Gentler CitiField: CF Wall to be lowered

I guess the number of opposing team HRs wasn't enough...Outfleld wall to be lowered. You know this won't help us...

Mets' Citi Field to become more homer-friendly next season; center-field wall gets chopped to 8 feet

How embarrassing. I hope David Wright is happy. I expect an MVP year from him now.

It's not going to help one bit... Opponents will still hit home runs like they did last year because the pitching blows.

They should knock down the LF and Rf walls too. Go back to the heights it was at Shea. Once again they're half assing it.

Don't say they didn't do anything all off season, you know they just added an all star offense by moving in the wall

Me too. Solid baseball guy, but not sure how much stroke he will have.

Could be GM or MGR in waiting as well.

Aren't they moving the bullpens into sight as well!! If so, this really demonstrates that even the Wilpon's can't even hire a good ballpark architect.

They weren't designing a ballpark for Met fans - it was for Dodger fans.

Same here. Also agree with the sentiment that opposing teams hitting more HR's at Citi than Shea has more to do with how awful the Mets staff was rather than Citi not suppressing power numbers. Opposing teams could have hit HR's in the Polo Fields off of that staff.

Brilliant move when you got absolutely no pitching and a manager who doesn't know how to use the bullpen, can't wait to leave in the 2nd inning next year.

I never left a game in the 2nd inning, (strictly financial reasons, btw), but last year I often turned off the game in the 2nd inning and let my daughters watch the Disney channel.
