Can you imagine if he DID take a job with the Braves, and watching him run circles around Manuel?

That would put me over the edge. Really. I don't think I could watch another game. As it stands now, it's difficult, but this? Forget it. How much are we Mets fans supposed to take, anyway?

Note the lack of "1's" in the last column and remember, prior to 2007, who was the manager for the two gretaest collapses in Met History........and if Mets don't get a gift win on the last day of the season, NO PLAYOFFS in 2001...let Bobby stay in japan

People have short memories, V's act was tiresome by the time he got booted. Anyone remember 150 diff lineups in 160 games? Yeah Im sure the players loved that.

All you guys say about BV is true. Still, he's an intelligent man who's learned a lot from his failures and his successes. We need to remember that we can all change and grow. Who better to rebuild the Mets?

The 1997-2000 Mets teams overachieved in part because Valentine understood how to manage a 25-man roster. Winning 88 games in 1997, for example, was a credit to Valentine, not ammunition to use against him.

Could it be that those who had grown "tiresome" were wrong?

I'd be happy with Backman, though he's a disaster waiting to happen.

I was ready to see him go bye bye. Unfortunately this inept organization has put nothing but douchenozzles in that role since then.
