Default Todd Wellemeyer

Yup, the Mets are interested...

I wish they would stop with this sh!t already. We already know that Omar thinks he has the 1970 Baltimore Orioles starting rotation, and they are NOT signing ANY starting pitching... oh yeah, Josh Fogg, but he sucks.

Interesting take, but I put nothing past Omar to think like this...

i think omars plan is to just bring in terrible pitching such as RA Dickey, Josh fogg, and whatever scum he scrapped off the floor.. so the worse they do the better itlll make perez, pelf, maine look to the point where we beg them to pitch perez

Wellemeyer isn't bad. He was pretty solid a few years ago.

I thank God I haven't wasted any of my money on tickets for this team. I remember Omar and Jeffie on Fatxessa's radio show a day or two after the season ended. They said they need to upgrade their pitching and catching. Well, guess what? They still haven't done a damn thing. I guess we have to wait for football season to come back. Baseball this year looks like a total bust.

Another Dave Duncan Joint, IMO. I'm sure he'd be great under the maestro Warthen.

I almost wish that we didn't sign Bay. We'd have a new management team for 2011 with a clean slate and money to spend.

To be clear.. I do not want Wellemeyer. My point is the Mets being interested in him...

the only thing the Mets should be interested in is selling the team. They are running this franchise into the ground if they haven't already totally traumatized the fan base by now.

Pal, if there was a larger waste of money than the wars in the mid east, star wars, and bailing out the banks in the 1980's and again now I don't know what it is.

Placebo: The Mets will have a clean slate because they can trade Reyes, Wright and Beltran all of whom will be close to free agency.

Wellemeyer's 2007-2008 stint with the Cardinals more than makes him worth a flyer to join camp and at worst keep at AAA. I'm not saying he's likely to pitch that well ever again, but there's a chance he can fill some role and the Mets need all the held they can find.

Except those aren't the guys that need to go. It is guys like Castillo, Cora and Perez that are the problem.
