This organization makes me sick.

Another guy (IMHO better player) who signed for LESS than Alex the Great.. Adam Kennedy signs with the Nats.

the Mets could have filled a bunch of holes with a few 1 year deals and added a lot of depth, it may not have taken us to the promise land but it would have been an effort. Not only are these 1 yr deal guys better then the right side of our current infield, there's no insurance in case Murphy tanks or Castillo reverts to 08 form. I see it as clear of day, who the hell is subbing in for the everyday guys? The lineup is not that great by itself and the bench is even worse, this team has no shot.

This is the first year in like 16 years that I could care less about opening day, in fact I'm almost afraid to watch

I'm actually rooting for it to be a total embarrassment. Maybe that will be the final push to clean house and start over in the front office.

Adam Kennedy + Erik Bedard > Alex Cora

Know what I'm sayin'?

This is what kills me right here. Someone like Kennedy would have been GREAT insurance for Castillo. Even NOW, Omar can scratch his Latino itch, as Felipe Lopez is still available, and IMO would be a solid pickup.

But I still contend that if they really wanted to get rid of Castillo, they could have just eaten his contract and sent him home...instead they "try" to make impossible deals.

Two pieces of sh!t added together would be > Alex Cora.

Adam Kennedy was actually an integral part of the Angels 2003 world title run, even winning the ALCS MVP. Very solid, hard-nosed, "wants to win" type of player. When Cora did/does anything like that, aside from gathering up the game worn jocks in the Red Sox clubhouse during their world series runs, let me know.

I still scratch my head why Omar just had to rush in on that one. Cora would still be available today, and could have been had much, much cheaper, and without commitment in terms of guaranteeing him a roster spot and an option for 2011 that will surely be picked up if Omar is still the GM.

Better hope Reyes and Castillo can stay healthy all season because we will end up with another dose of Cora. Good luck with that.

Ridiculous. Embarrassing. Should I go on?

This looks to be one fugly season coming up. Its kind of like anticipating a really big car wreck. I want to turn away, but somehow there's this morbid attraction that keeps me reading articles and waiting for ST to start. Its like I can't wait for the Omar watch to start...

The Omar watch should already be in full effect, as we desperately needed not one, but TWO starting pitchers added to the rotation - and we haven't signed anybody.
