Default 46 pitches..2 innings..Was it worth it??

When K-Rod needs TJ surgery in September and the rest of the bullpen is making the '08 bullpen look like the '71 Orioles staff, are wins like today worth it???? Manuel to save his job, is starting to ride the pen like Willie did. I'm glad the Mets won, but at a cost of 46 pitches from your key reliever, when Parnell was available, is nuts, IMHO. IF you are not going to use Parnell, then send him down Jerry. You have already destroyed the kid's confidence..today added insult to injury.

You don't use Parnell in that situation.

K-Rod is not a candy ass who needs a day's rest after pitching 1 inning. He's fine.

Krod begged to come out for the 10th to redeem himself, asswipe. Don't you normally complain that this team has no balls?

Should this thread be used to counter all the "If we lose the division by one game" threads?

was one game worth it or is every game worth it????

Make up your mind people!

Had K Rod done his job in the 9th, he would not have been needed in the 10th.

He saved 60+ games and is ridden like a horse. It would not *shock* me if it somehow, at some point in the next few years, blows up in his face. Hopefully that is not the case.

For once, I agree with Jerry. KRod HAD to go out in the 10th. You can't expect Parnell to go longer than 2 innings anyhow, and you had to conserve pitching...Parnell comes in, blows the lead and its tied again...you can't even pinch hit Livan for him...

Balls are one thing...stupidity is another. I don't take a player wanting to come out again after he fu(ked up a sign of balls. This is a normal reaction of a competitor. For example, if Castillo's dropped popup vs. the Yanks would have led to an extra inning game instead of a Yanks win, don't you think Castillo would have wanted a chance to redeem himself. Indeed, the guy couldn't sleep all night waiting for a second chance.

All I am saying is that yesterday Krod fuc(ked up real bad. And his last couple of outings (c'mon walking Mariano in for his first MLB RBI..the Orioles fiasco) have looked shaky. Is it worth potentially damaging your $37 million dollar investment, when you had Parnell available. Parnell has been pathetic lately, but it is more about confidence than ability. If Parnell fu(ked up in that spot then so be it, he continues to suffer; however, if he would have gotten the save, it would have been worth more than our star reliever throwing 46 pitches before a key series. Given the bandbox that CBP is, all relievers will be in high demand this weekend. After 46 pitches, I doubt KROD will be in great shape this weekend. Let's hope he is.

As for 1 game being the deciding factor for the postseason, I agree that all games are important, but I got news for you. If KROD breaks down in mid-late August because of overuse, we will be much more than 1 game out. Therefore, I still think 46 pitches in July is stupid no matter how competitive a player is. Great... he has balls.,..but guess what...he'll have no ulnar collateral ligament left if this continues.

Don't worry - he'll have the whole Phillie series to rest, since there won't be any close games.
