Default Jerry Manuel's Closed-Door Meeting

I'm hoping he flipped over tables and took a dump in the middle of the clubhouse...

Instead he probably just tested some of his new material on a bunch of guys who probably can't understand what the hell he's saying, or care...

He did seem to be in a pretty bad mood at times during his talk with the reporters. He wasn't in constant comedian mode that's for sure.

Didn't the meltdown with that quote actually happen after a horrendous loss to the Bears? God, that was f*cking hilarious. Maybe even better than Jim Mora's (I think) "PLAYOFFS!?!" outburst.

It came after a game where (maybe the Bears) the team came in, un-defeated, hyped up beyond belief, and the Cardinals had the game and invented ways to dribble it down their leg. That conference was hilarious.

Isnt the "table flipper" Lou Pinella's team MASSIVELY underperforming this year?

And how is never fight, never bat an eye Joe Torre's team doing...even without the guy who was going to "save" the Mets batting 4th for him?

Im just sayin'

I'd say that he Dodger organizational philosophy in terms of drafting and dealing since the McCourt's took over the team has been excellent.

The Cubbies are in trouble. With their impending sale and lackluster play, there isn't much Piniella and Hendry can do.

The only difference is that Torre's team actually speaks English.

other than 1980 to 1986 of Frank Cashen's reign (87 to 91 not so much)....have the METS ever had a good GM?

I'd say Bing Divine for the short time he was here from '66-'67, did a lot of good for the team.

Other then him, no.

Manuel's gotta go. This two-faced, whining and not funny comedian has lost the team, the front office and the fans with his constant bs. Why should the players believe him when he says "we're good enough to win with what we have," when he's been complaining to the media about "not getting help?" Help? How many players will it take to replace Delgado, Reyes, Beltran, Maine, Putz, Perez?

Omar is smart in not making a move right now. I don't want to give up on our young players for some has-been. If Omar could pick someone up, a salary dump, okay.

Yeah, I know they're only three games out, but let's be honest, THEY WILL NOT WIN THIS YEAR. For many reasons too numerous to get into now, though injuries are on the top of the list. And even before the injuries, they were playing badly; errors, mental and physical; running the bases like kids playing t-ball...

And now, with injuries, and Manuel saying "we have to play smart..." How is that supposed to happen? Are they gonna take a smart pill or something? This team is a mess. And it all comes down to the manager.

Did anyone notice how well the Mets started to play when Delgado went on the DL? Reyes, too (for awhile)? How they played with some toughness. Some grit.

Wilpon needs to call Bobby Valentine. The Mets played beyond expectations with him as manager. Seems like a long time ago...

Love the sig, Paulie. Unfortunately, his idea of "making the team better" is by having his manager play Tatis ad nauseum.
