| Before any team realizes he is washed up and over the hill!!!! The mets have ruined yet another sure hall of famers career! Last edited by metboy98 : 06-30-2009 at 10:08 PM. |

| At this point Metboy would probably be a better fielder than most of the Mets.

| It's sad but I would actually consider it in the offseason. It would be the quickest way to rebuild this team and considering they will not win while he is here, we might as well see what he can get us.

| I would consider it if it is part of a wholesale rebuilding effort. First Omar must be fired and a competent GM brought in to oversee the trades and rebuilding. Trade Krod, Reyes, Beltran as well over the winter. I'd even consider trading Wright for the right package of prospects. Get rid of everyone and get the best young prospects you can. Lower payroll to Marlins level and cut ticket prices.

Unfortunately it will never happen, as they will continue to use injuries as excuses, instead of admitting that the injuries just expose the team as being a sham.

| He threw 91 today and has been getting peppered a lot lately. I wonder if it's just a coincidence or if he will slowly, over the next few years, lose a bit of his top flight stuff due to his small stature and logged innings. It's at least something to consider as a possibility as it's not like he's projected to be an 8 inning ace at age 33. :/ It'd be our luck if he did start to lose effectiveness within a year just as Beltran at 32 is starting to break down like an old dog. Sure, it's not likely, but would it surprise me? No, no it wouldn't.

| Call up Niese and make him the number one. This Joe Han is a joke.

| Did the MOFO take stupidity pillz??? He goes through this same cycle every year. I forgave everyone last year since it was his first year on the team, but this is overboard. Come August and September, he'll be back to ace form and all you people clamoring to trade him will yet again remark how he is the only person on this team who still has the heart to win. You can bet the farm on it. |

| Santana could be the reincarnation of CY Young and I would still say trade him for prospects. the Minaya experiment has failed and it is time to rebuild with 25ish talent.

| I don't want to trade him but, during the trade, I figured by 2010/2011, we have to brace for what is an expected slow downturn. I just hope Omar and Pals realize we need another ace shortly if we want to continue to be 'relevant'. He might not break down anytime soon but I am eager to see the real Santana again, not the 91 mph whoopsy Santana. Maybe it's just more irritating because we have NOTHING to be excited about this year.

| Santana is about the only player left on this team of schmucks that has ANY heart/fire left in him. The rest are all a bunch of losers, and have given up. Can you imagine what this team would be like without him ? I realize he's not getting it done of late, but if anyone will turn it around, Santana will. I'm all for rebuilding, but as I've said before, and Hag said so well ..... I dont want Omar anywhere near any rebuilding. If rebuilding is the way the Wilpons want to go, Omar and Jerry MUST be gone first, and a GM who knows how to rebuild, must be brought in. With that said, I highly doubt any of it will happen. I bet the Wilpons are working on a 10 year extension for Omar as we speak. |
