Aaron Heilman wants starting role with Mets or a trade

I can't wait to the day when she is an ex-Met.

Feelings asking for a starting role or to be traded AGAIN?!

I'm stunned.

"The object the entire time has never been to get out of New York," Heilman's agent Mark Rodgers told the Daily News. "The object is to get out of the bullpen. The most success he's ever had as a pitcher has been as a starting pitcher. He was drafted by the Mets as a starting pitcher."
Who the **** is he trying to fool?

I think Aaron will be traded. If he's a sucessful starter elsewhere. Someone in our front office should be FIRED.

IMO the people responsible for him in the pen initially have been fired already

Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.

As poor a job he did (bad knee or not, though I think that is just typical Mets org excuse-making bullsh!t), I have always felt he got the short end of the stick by the organization. I too would be terribly insulted if I got passed over for a rotation spot by some of the utter garbage the Mets have trotted out there, plus other players whining to the press and getting their way.

THAT SAID, he needs to go. Complaining about a rotation spot is his ticket out of here. Can't pitch here...not after last season.

I honestly think that if he hadn't been so good in the bullpen in the past, he would have had more shots at starting over the trash they've plugged in there over the years. It's not so much they've devalued him because he's average in the rotation, but that he had previously excelled in the 'pen, which is what he did in '06, with periods of being good at other times the odd meatball aside. He slipped in '07, but was still promising enough to think he could go back to his '06 levels, but last season he moped himself into being putrid, which is why he needs to go. That and there is no overcoming the hatred from the crowds now, he doesn't have the mental aspect to block them out until he's back on form.

The Red Sox picked up a pretty decent reliever the other day. I dont know why Heilman + Evans + some other spare parts couldn't go to the royals for that same pen guy + Soria.

As shitty as the contract has been with the Giants --- who doesn't wish that the team traded Milledge and Heilman to the A's for Zito at the trade deadline of 2006? (as was reported by several sources.)
