I like Lowe as well and his pitching style fits in great with the defense as well. He's more of a perfect #2 starter to be honest.

He's been a lock for 12+ wins, 200 innings, and a mid-3 era the last 4 years

He's 35 and will be looking for a 4 year deal as well....I think you're talking Pedro money if not more for him.

Yup, there is always the age factor, but Lowe, Sheets, and Burnett are my 3 choices on the board.

3 year deal, option for a 4th? Maybe...

Santana
Lowe
Maine
Pelfrey
Niese

I'd be happy with this.

I don't disagree... but that rotation calls for a solid bullpen.

Unless your rotation is:

Sabathia
Halladay
Santana
Webb
Lincecum

You're going to need a solid bullpen.

Not really.

The Mets would be in the playoffs with an average bullpen this year.

Agreed. However, we'll be lucky to get an average pen with all the changes that must be done.

I think it's going to be easier to re-do the bullpen than the two open spots in the rotation.

Speaking of Sheets.. he is off the NLDS roster due to a tear found near his pitching elbow.

"What the hell did they keep him off the roster for?" wondered the Mets' medical staff.

That SUCKS for him on the FA market. Well cross your fingers that the yankees give him a bizillion dollars and he never pitches a game again.

Yes, I agree with everyone that it's time for Delgado to move on.
