He is shot. If is 33, its an old 33. Sort of like Edgardo Alfonzo. He is done and its never coming back. I get the feeling that the Mets are not going to able to move him and will have him on the roster at the start of 2009. The Mets will then have to buy him out like Bonilla or Cedeno

I don't know, but hasn't he always played on young teams where he was healthy and never had to worry about a spot? Maybe he's not dealing with veteran competition and injuries well, but that doesn't really matter. The end result can still be the same. Florida and Minny are also a long way from NY...

He also had to replace the guy who everyone in the clubhouse loved, and who supposedly bridged the gap between the Latin and white players in Valentin. People lamenting the loss of Floyd shouldn't forget him, and it would be great if they could get him coaching in the organization...

I want a second baseman who can hit the ball in the air and get it out of the infield. When castillo is up, the threat of a single is all that is there.

Thats a big part of the problem. Look at the power gap at 2B - Utley, Uggla & Kelly Johnson - Its been a big disavantage for two years now.

I once saw someone projectile vomit further than 98% of Castillo's hits. That's saying something.
