Whats the chances of them getting in todays game? Forecast looks terrible.

I hate the thought of Santana going on short rest. They have 6 more years they need this guy to be good for. Why risk it on this year?

Run out some scrubs...and hope you can pull together a win. Let Santana close out Shea.

Because they are desperate for something they play like they don't want anymore.

What happens if Santana pitches, say, 3 innings into the game and there is a long rain delay? Could he possibly pitch after such a long rain delay? If not, would there be any chance that he could pitch any amount of innings on Sunday?

As badly as I would like them to win now, it would break my ****ing heart if they screwed up a potential Hall-of-Famer's career for what looks like an impossible mission.

I'd bet that they don't pin 2 runs on Nolasco.

You already blew this year, might as well blow out Santana's arm and pay him 100+ mil for the next 6 years.

So then who would pitch on sunday if they are still in it? I can't blame them for pitching santana today as there may not be a tomorrow. That said, it is either going to go one of two ways. Either he will be brillant or won't make it past the first or second inning. I don't see it going somewhere in the middle.

Luckily, I doubt I will be watching.

Sunday is Perez. Who is Monday if by some miracle they tie the Brewers?

Pedro on short rest, or Jon Neise.

Not gonna matter anyway.

Well, I am headed to the funeral... errr... today's game.

Same here.

On the flip side, I imagine that if Willie were still the manager he'd say everything was fine and start Niese. As much as I think the guy is overrated, you gotta give Manuel credit for acknowledging desperation.

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

Once again the heaviest rain is pivoting off to the east of Shea. Looks like they will have a soggy but playable day to crush our effing hearts.

I really feel f**king sick today.

Now now, somehow that will happen tomorrow instead. I've been saying for months that it'll come down the last day of the season while I'm at the last game to receive the last **** punch of the season in person.

You know, dressed in my pinstriped top today - somewhere in my heart, I am begging for one more miracle, and a Mets win to close out Shea and everyone goes home tomorrow with glories of Mets teams past intermingling with the afterglow of the wild card berth.

Oh yeah, am I gonna be in a bad mood tomorrow night....
