| The playoff atmosphere at Shea got me thinking... Could you imagine if this was a playoff game the Mets lost like this? The deciding game of a series?* Tonight is yet another argument for why this team is better off not in the playoffs (unfortunately the Omar extension renders a large portion of that moot). They won't have to kill Pelfrey or Maine, they might go and find a real manager, they might - might - take a serious look at their flaws and do something to fix what's been eating this team alive for two years running. And again, they won't have to destroy us even worse by losing like this in the playoffs. *LJD, I was wrong w/r/t which Game 6 this was; put this stinker in the playoffs and it's Game 6 1999 NLCS. No doubt.
