Default A True Classic(just for you BRD)

Mets and 2B Castillo agree: 4 years / $25M

Lugo got 4 years at NINE mil per. Eckstein was asking for the same. Compared to those 2, this is a steal! And we give up NO prospects, NO draft picks.

I was hoping for 2 + Option, but the guy just turned 32 and had his knee fixed, so he'll be 36 at the end of the contract.

As far as I'm concerned, he's the perfect complement to Jose, both at the plate and in the field.

Now who could have said this

McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.

Let's wait until the end of the contract before declaring winners and losers here.

If we didn't sign Pedro, Beltran would never have come here.

Everything was as I expected other than the years.... My guess had been 2 and an option either team based or on ABs for about 18 mil total.

4 years for a 32 year old with gimpy knees (even if most seasons he does get into 140+ games) is just too much.

Dak hit it on the head, Omar lacked any creativity here so just threw on another couple of years pointlessly.

I could see some team offering Castillo a bit more money than 6 per, but someone please tell me who's offering this guy 4 years?!?!

Horrible move....I suspect it'll be fine for this year and maybe even next, but the last 2 years are highly likely to be wasted money IMO.
Well I ****ed up. He couldnt even get 1 good year out of it......

I guess Omar needed something to bring with him to tomorrow night's SNY Mets Hot Stove Show (he's scheduled to appear), so he can show Munster that he just made THE tweak, that will cure all the Mets woes.

Seriously, money's ok, but this guy is not worth 4 years.
I always wonder about this. Did you mean the 24 million or the 6 per?

Jerry rewards blatant, awful play as well.

The same a$$hole who already suggested the Mets KEEP Forrest Gimp, so that Murphy can serve as an "understudy"...
