Default It's over

This team is not making the playoffs and we all wasted and entire summer watching and rooting for sackless pieces of ****.

He is not going anywhere. Fred Wailpon has bought into Con Man Omar's act. The only way this Franchise ever turns it around is when Freddy Coupon takes a dirt nap. Hell that may not change anything because jocksniffer Jeff will be in charge.

I don't understand how he can survive two years in a row like this. I really don't.

I could slip the following thought into a number of threads, but anyway...

The overriding lesson from 2007 and 2008 is that every game counts. it bears repeating because Omar doesn't get it: EVERY GAME COUNTS.

How many games were lost in 2008 because it took the Mets far too long to fire Willie, let alone Omar? if the answer is even one game, that seriously might cost them the playoffs this year again.

And did Omar learn a thing about stockpiling depth after the embarassment of giving away games by starting Humber and Lawrence down the stretch last year? Apparently not if Brandon Knight and God knows what else is any part of the rotation, with zero of worth after it when Santana, Pelfrey, and Perez have had their turns. Let alone hardly shoring up the bullpen with an aging and increasingly brittle Wagner and a brutally-ineffective (and knee tendinitis-suffering) Heilman as the top two relievers? Disgrace.

Again, every game counts. Omar once again brutally failed to maximize the chances of the Mets winning, and for that, just like last year, he richly deserves to be canned.

If you don't start a thread with this exact post, entitled "Every Game Counts", I will.

It's not over until the fat lady sings! Sang already? Would you believe it's not over until the fat lady dies? Dead already? Would you believe it's not over until she decomposes? Is buried? Walks the Earth again as a zombie?

I'm trying not to give up hope but with Zambrano and Harden both going for the Cubs and a decent Marlins team coming in with the intention to play spoiler, I don't have much cause for optimism.
