Probably the only article on the net that doesn't contain one iota of Yankee propaganda. All the press about the last game at Yankee Stadium and all the theatrics involved is pure overkill.

I really like the part about the Yankees NOT NEEDING a new stadium, but ONLY got one (not only got, but demanded) because the Mets were getting a new one.

The biggest advantage between the two new ballparks is that the area around Shea could turn into something nice, while NOTHING (not even a $2 billion dollar stadium and a $250 million dollar non-playoff-making team of All Stars) can make the Bronx look good.

Good article. I heard on the radio that over the past homestand, they were changing the bases every three innings, and selling them for as much as $7500 each.

To say nothing about the fact that in order to do so, the Yankees and the city would have a fight with neighborhood associations and government agencies that would make the Mets battle with the Iron Triangle chop shops look like a walk in the park.
