Inning 1-2: Come right out of the box and score a bunch of runs

Inning 3: Initiate offensive hibernation

Inning 6: Starter starts to falter, but barely makes it through with team in the lead.

Inning 7: Starter hits the 100-pitch glass ceiling and the gas tank immediately empties. First round of relievers (new guys) bail out starter, team still has lead.

Inning 8: Send in the clowns (proven crap). First clown (Bozo) immediately blows the hold and allows opponent to take lead. The next two clowns (Homey and Ronald McDonald) give up subsequent runs to put the game out of reach.

Inning 9: Initiate Project C@cktease. Noffense awakes from its long winter nap. They score just enough runs to make the score (n-1), with n = opponent's number of runs. Therefore, the runs that clowns 2 and 3 gave up are the deciding factor. Have pinch-hitter strike out to end the misery. Clown 1 takes loss. Leadoff hitter goes 0-5. Delgado and Wright pad stats. Lose ground to division lead and wildcard lead.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Horrible as this sounds, I was pretty much resigned to the loss yesterday when Pelfrey left the mound in the 7th. Psychologically, the blow is that much less impactful this way.

While I didn't know quite HOW they would blow it, the one thing that was sure in my addled mind is that they WOULD. I am sure that senitiment was shared by many a person on this board, and throughout Met fandom.

The sickening fact that GMG just ACCURATELY posted this team's EXACT M.O. for MOST of their losses this year is an atrocity.

I hope that the powers that be are leafing through some of these posts (who knows, maybe they get bored) and slowly removing their heads from their asses. It may be too late for this year (AGAIN) but Jesus Christ, even they must get sick of gutting losses, no?

Oh, and one leftover from "second base slidin'" Willie? Going with PROVEN crap when you have a YOUNG LIVE arm that no one has really seen yet ROTTING in the bullpen. YOU STUPID F*CKS!
